Report: Pitt Hires Miami (Oh.) TE Coach/ST Coordinator Jacob Bronowski

Jacob Bronowski will be responsible for a couple of important tasks at Pitt over the next few seasons.
Bronowski, who has served as the Miami (Oh.) tight ends coach and special teams coordinator, has been hired to fill the same roles at Pitt, 247Sports’ Brandon Marcello reported.
Tim Salem and Andre Powell, who served as the Pitt tight ends coach and special teams coordinator, respectively, over the last eight seasons were let go last week, and Bronowski will be tasked with revamping the special teams unit and finding ways to get the tight ends more involved.
Bronowski, 30, experienced a lot of success during his two seasons at Miami (Oh.), and he was recently named to the 247Sports’ 30 Under 30 list — earning 247Sports’ Special Teams Coordinator of the Year.
Miami (Oh.) was rated as the top special teams unit by ESPN’s SP+, and Miami (Oh.) kicker Graham Nicholson won the Lou Groza Award for the top kicker in college football last season. Bronowski is regarded as one of the better special teams coordinators in college football, but he will also be coaching tight ends, too.
Bronowski arrived at Miami (Oh.) after a stint at Tennessee as a special teams analyst in 2021, and he served as the special team quality control coach in 2020. He’s also spent time in Pittsburgh, Moon Township, to be exact, as he served as the RMU tight ends coach and special teams coordinator in 2018 and 2019.
He received his coaching start at New Mexico in 2014, after spending a season as a quarterback for the Lobos. And he’s slowly risen through the ranks to earn his first Power Five coaching opportunity.
Bronowski joins new offensive coordinator Kade Bell as a young, new staffer on the offense, and he will not be the last in the days ahead. The running backs coach and offensive line coach will be filled shortly.
