Report: Pitt Hires Miami (Oh.) TE Coach/ST Coordinator Jacob Bronowski

Published

on

Pitt tight ends coach/special teams coordinator Jacob Bronowski.

Jacob Bronowski will be responsible for a couple of important tasks at Pitt over the next few seasons.

Bronowski, who has served as the Miami (Oh.) tight ends coach and special teams coordinator, has been hired to fill the same roles at Pitt, 247Sports’ Brandon Marcello reported.

Tim Salem and Andre Powell, who served as the Pitt tight ends coach and special teams coordinator, respectively, over the last eight seasons were let go last week, and Bronowski will be tasked with revamping the special teams unit and finding ways to get the tight ends more involved.

Bronowski, 30, experienced a lot of success during his two seasons at Miami (Oh.), and he was recently named to the 247Sports’ 30 Under 30 list — earning 247Sports’ Special Teams Coordinator of the Year.

Miami (Oh.) was rated as the top special teams unit by ESPN’s SP+, and Miami (Oh.) kicker Graham Nicholson won the Lou Groza Award for the top kicker in college football last season. Bronowski is regarded as one of the better special teams coordinators in college football, but he will also be coaching tight ends, too.

Bronowski arrived at Miami (Oh.) after a stint at Tennessee as a special teams analyst in 2021, and he served as the special team quality control coach in 2020. He’s also spent time in Pittsburgh, Moon Township, to be exact, as he served as the RMU tight ends coach and special teams coordinator in 2018 and 2019.

He received his coaching start at New Mexico in 2014, after spending a season as a quarterback for the Lobos. And he’s slowly risen through the ranks to earn his first Power Five coaching opportunity.

Bronowski joins new offensive coordinator Kade Bell as a young, new staffer on the offense, and he will not be the last in the days ahead. The running backs coach and offensive line coach will be filled shortly.

About time. I’m shocked Offensive Line Coach didn’t come with Bell. I know they wanted to get there recruiting class signed before changes made. This Coach will help recruiting greatly. Very connected in Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Toledo and Louisville areas. Plus knows MAC talent really well in transfer portal.

Heard Nick Saban is available. You sound like Rooney, Sr. Get a new HC. Dan stopped him from replacing Noll.

Find a frigging punter and his job gets five times easier.

Definitely can see the plan here. Narduzzi lets his OC run the show as well as dislikes the nuances of recruiting/ NIL. Bring in some young guys with energy that relate to the players a little more and sit back to run your defense which is still successful. These hires will infuse life into the program as well as hopefully attract better or different recruits.

Didn’t help that Michigan ran the ball down everyone’s throat this year. Big Ten football, what Duzz likes. OC is going to have to explain that unless you have beasts on the O-line, it doesn’t work.

How many O line combos did Pitt have this past year? Wes it 8? Not a offense in the world going to run consistently with that shuffle.

If he can recruit, it looks good.
