New Pitt Assistant Coach Hits Recruiting Trail Hard in Texas

Jacob Bronowski hasn’t been on the job long, hired as the Pitt tight ends coach and special teams coordinator earlier this month, but he’s hit the ground running.

Bronowski, who spent the last couple of seasons at Miami (Oh.) in the same positions, doesn’t have a set recruiting area yet. He’s been active all over the northeast, extending a handful of offers, but it appears he may be extending the Pitt reach into the Lone Star state.

Pitt has landed the likes of Nate Yarnell and Che Nwabuko over the last handful of classes, showing a desire to hit the talent-rich state of Texas, but Bronowski hit a north Dallas high school hard this week.

Bronowski extended offers to basically the entire Prosper High offensive line Wednesday.

Bronowski extended offers to:

Connor Carty — 2025 three-star offensive guard with offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Boston College, Duke, Houston, LSU, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, Stanford, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and USC.

Logan Cahill — 2025 offensive lineman with offers from Duke and Pitt.

Sean Stover — 2026 offensive lineman with offers from Duke, Pitt and Texas Tech.

Bryce Gilmore — 2026 offensive lineman with offers from Duke and Pitt.

It’s an interesting development to offer basically an entire starting offensive line, especially when it comes to a brand new coach offering outside of a traditional recruiting area, but if there’s an area filled with talent, it’s Texas.

Pitt hired Bronowski, Jeremy Darveau (offensive line) and Lindsey Lamar (running backs) to supplement a new-look offensive staff this offseason, following the hiring of new offensive coordinator Kade Bell, and it appears that all four will be major recruiters going forward.

Pitt has established footholds in the likes of Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Florida and Georgia, with Virginia, New York and a handful of other states often hit hard, but Texas hasn’t traditionally been on the radar.

It’s possible that Bronowski will begin to look into the Texas recruiting circles more often in the future. It bears watching.

I am not sure the reason for the snide comments. Consider what we experienced before Narduzzi: Wannstedt 2005-2010 42 w vs 31 loss for .575 percent Haywood Graham 2011 6 wins vs 6 loss .500 record Cryst 2012-2014 19 wins vs 19 loss .500 record Then we have Narduzzi: is 65 wins 50 loss. Narduzzi has brought a level of stability to our Pitt program. We experienced an upward trajectory until this past season’s fall. Then we see a head coach take control and get young and innovative with his hires. He also brings a level of integrity to Pitt.… Read more »

Of course Holstein’s father is going say that. They chose Pitt. It was an obvious, obligatory post decision comment. I do agree that coach Narduzzi has been good for our current program and certainly should not be fired at this point. His most paramount failure was hiring Cignetti, then, not intervening when Jurkovic was obviously terrible. However, he gallantly recovered with his latest, offensive coaching staff overhaul. Sadly, Pitt fans are eternally disgruntled. They wanted coach Capel gone after he completely salvaged the basketball program.

I understand what you are saying about an obligatory comment regarding Pitt and Narduzzi from a recently signed athlete. My question is, why say anything? Do you think Holstein’s father not telling the truth? My point is that his father commented on all the coaches he spoke to when his son was being recruited. Remember he held offers from the likes of Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, South Carolina, Stanford, Texas A&M and Utah before signing with Alabama. This is an impressive list of… Read more »
