Pitt is in the running for one of the biggest linemen — offensive and defensive — in the WPIAL.

Jaiden Brown-Demery — a 6-foot-4, 345-pound athlete from West Mifflin High in West Mifflin, Pa. — announced via Twitter that he has established a top four of Bowling Green, Duke, Pitt and West Virginia.

He cut Temple and Toledo from his current list of contenders, choosing to focus on a few of his most recent offers instead.

Pitt jumped into the fray earlier this month, with Kade Bell extending one of his first WPIAL offers to the big, versatile lineman, and Bell, Pat Narduzzi and Cory Sanders stopped by West Mifflin to check in with Brown-Demery and invited him to the Feb. 3 Junior Day.

West Mifflin, on a related note, will be a popular destination for college coaches as Brown-Demery and his teammate Armand Hill, a 2027 running back who holds offers from Bowling Green, Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia and UNLV, will be in high demand.

Pitt is the hometown school for Brown-Demery, and it’s likely that a Junior Day visit, which he has already confirmed, will get the relationship off to a fast start.

“I’m very excited after today, and I’m proud because I’ve worked very hard for this,” Brown-Demery told Pittsburgh Sports Now earlier this month. “This all caught me off guard because I really didn’t expect this. But I knew that if I continued to work hard my recruiting would pick up. My recruiting started out a little slower than I expected, but I’m glad it’s picking up.”

It was Bell who extended the official offer, and the two were able to lay the foundation for a future relationship — which will very likely be joined by new offensive line coach Jeremy Darveau. And the WPIAL recruiter in Sanders.

” I got the offer from Pitt’s new offensive coordinator,” Brown-Demery said. “He said that he likes real nasty players, and he saw that in me after watching my film. Coach (Bell) is a really young coach and was really energetic. He seemed really cool, and I liked his energy.

“The offer from Pitt is amazing. My family grew up watching them and we know people, like Elijah Fields, who went to Pitt. This really is amazing.”

Brown-Demery served as a key offensive and defensive lineman for West Mifflin as a junior, helping the Titans to a 7-5 record, and he earned Defensive Lineman of the Year and All-Section honors for his play.

The major recruiting services (247Sports, Rivals and On3) haven’t rated Brown-Demery yet, but as his recruiting process has picked up over the last month, that should be changing over the course of the spring.

While Brown-Demery has set an initial top four, it will likely change over time as he continues to receive offers from schools around the country. He told PSN that he’s received interest from Boston College, Memphis and Penn State. The Junior Day visit could go a long way in establishing Pitt as a major player in his recruiting process.

Pitt has not yet landed a commitment in the class of 2025, but the recruits in the class are beginning to come to the forefront.

The Panthers are in the mix for four-star linebacker Dayshaun Burnett (Pittsburgh, Pa.), three-star athlete Emmanuel Taylor (Virginia Beach, Va.), three-star offensive lineman Raphael Greene (Cincinnati, Ohio), four-star wide receiver Jadyn Robinson (San Juan Capistrano, Cal.), three-star running back Jeffrey Overton Jr. (Woodbridge, Va.) and three-star edge rusher Sharlandiin Strange (Wyncote, Pa).
