Pitt has made a concerted effort over the last week to recruit Texas, and while it’s mainly been new assistant Jacob Bronowski, there have been a handful of coaches extending offers in the Lone Star state.
Bronowski has been making the rounds in Texas, and he extended a major offer Friday afternoon.

Daylan McCutcheon — a 6-foot, 175-pound four-star wide receiver from Lovejoy High in Lucas, Texas — picked up an offer from Bronowski and Pitt.
Pitt joined the likes of Arkansas, Baylor, Cal, Florida, Florida State, Houston, Kansas State, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, SMU, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
McCutcheon, who has been recruited in the early phase by Bronowski, will certainly be hearing from Tiquan Underwood in the coming days and weeks. Pitt landed two wide receivers in the class of 2024, and there will likely be at least two more in the coming class.
It’s no surprise that Bronowski and Underwood are interested in McCutcheon either, considering his level of dominance at the high school level.
McCutcheon was a dynamic playmaking threat as a junior at Lovejoy, racking up 94 receptions for 1,430 yards (15.2 yards per reception) and 20 touchdowns — adding two more kick return touchdowns, too.
247Sports rates McCutcheon as the 87th-ranked recruit in the class (11th-ranked wide receiver and 15th-ranked recruit from Texas) while Rivals rates him as the 71st-ranked recruit in the class (12th-ranked wide receiver and 14th-ranked recruit from Texas).
McCutcheon will be one of the most highly sought-after wide receivers in the class of 2025, and Pitt is somewhat late to his recruitment (with his offers in the 30s), so it will be important to get him on campus as often as possible.
Pitt has not yet landed a commitment in the class of 2025, but the recruits in the class are beginning to come to the forefront.
