Pitt Guard Mike Hueitt Jr. Leaves Basketball Team

Published

on

On Thursday, the Pitt athletics department announced that guard Mike Hueitt Jr. has left the team due to personal reasons.

Hueitt joined the Panthers this summer after spending time with Old Dominion, UNC Greensboro and Catawba College in previous years. The 6-foot-3 guard played in five games this year for the Panthers, going 7 for 10 from the field as a Panther. He totaled 16 points, three rebounds and two steals while at Pitt.

The Panthers are now down to ten scholarship players available for the rest of this season as Jorge Diaz Graham is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Pitt’s back court of Jaland Lowe, Bub Carrington, and Ishmael Leggett has been rock solid this year for the Panthers. In Wednesday’s win over Wake Forest, Carrington led the team with 24 points, while Leggett added 22.

The Panthers will continue their season on Saturday against Notre Dame at the Petersen Events Center.
