Sunday’s Best Draftkings Bets: Orioles-Pirates, Iowa-South Carolina, Roughnecks-Defenders
Another good day for the Winning Picks on Saturday finishing 1-2. We were able to get to extra innings in the Orioles/Pirates game where the over finally covered in a Pirates win. The under was able to cover in Alabama/UConn in a game where the Huskies pulled away in the end. NC State could not withstand Purdue and failed to cover, ending their magical run. We moved to 238-182-3 on the year.
The National Championship is set tomorrow as UConn looks to repeat as champions against Purdue. The Boilermakers are making their first appearance in the finals since 1969. A win against the Huskies would be their first ever National Championship in basketball.
As it stands right now on DraftKings, UConn is a 6-point favorite over Purdue. The Huskies are -275 on the MoneyLine while the Boilermakers are +225. If you have UConn like I do as a national title future, this is a good line on Purdue to make a hedge bet. A small hedge on the Boilermakers can double your money if they somehow pull the upset on the Huskies, but I truly believe this is UConn’s game to lose.

What an incredible run for the Pirates to start their season. A victory today would give them their third series win on the year and only fuel the optimism surrounding this team. There has been a trend that has emerged with the Bucs, and it can make you money.
The over is 7-0 in games where the Pirates win while the under is 2-0 in games they lose. So basically, if the Pirates score runs, they will win. I believe that trend will continue today as I expect a lot of runs with Dean Kreamer on the hill for the O’s and Marco Gonzales pitching for the Pirates.

With how big this game is between Iowa and South Carolina, people were wondering why it wasn’t in prime time. Ironically, this game used to be played in prime-time years ago and didn’t do very well in the ratings. Today’s game could see even higher viewership than last year’s game that did record numbers. It is all about timing, I guess.
Some have suggested if Caitlin Clark doesn’t win today that she will go down as the Dan Marino of Women’s College Basketball. That isn’t an insult, as Marino was still one of the greatest players at his position. However, I don’t think Clark will go down as Marino like because she completes her story today. The Winning Pick will be Iowa spread, but the Hawkeyes pull off the upset of the undefeated Gamecocks and win the National Title.

This game will run at the same time as the Women’s National Championship game today. When that game goes to halftime, switch over to this UFL showdown to experience one of the best crowds in the league. Since this team debuted in the XFL back in 2020, people around DC have taken a surprisingly interest in this team. You can argue they are more excited about the Defenders than the Commanders.
In each team’s loss in the UFL opening weekend, they combined for 6 field goals and only 1 touchdown, which was a QB sneak by Houston in their 18-12 loss to Memphis. DC lost as big favorites on the road in San Antonio to the still undefeated Brahmas who pulled off a crazy 11-point comeback in the final minute at Memphis. As for this game, I expect the offenses to still struggle and the under to cover in this game.
