Not the Sunday we thought we would have with the Winning Picks, finishing 0-3. The Pirates won but for the first time this season the over did not cover in one of their wins. Overs are still 7-3 in the Pirates first 10 games. Caitlin Clark and Iowa could not withstand South Carolina and failed to cover in the Women’s National Championships. The under also did not cover in Roughnecks/Defenders due to a late score by DC. We moved to 238-185-3 on the year.
With the Penguins’ latest resurgence to close the season, let’s check out what their current odds to make the playoffs are according to DraftKings. As it stands right now, the Pens are +145 to make the playoffs with 5 games remaining in the season. Not only could the Penguins clinch the final wild card spot, but there is also another opening that has emerged in these standings for the playoffs that was thought to be closed.
Thanks to the Flyers being in a freefall, the Pens also have a shot at third place in the Metropolitan Division. Currently, the Islanders are in that spot, but the Penguins do meet them in the last game of the season in New York. It will be interesting to see if it comes down to the last game of the year.

I am still amazed that the Penguins have pulled themselves from the fire and are back into contention for the playoffs. If they get in, they will most likely play the Rangers or the Hurricanes? Will that go well for them? Probably not but I am just along for the ride at this point.
The Maple Leafs thrashed the Pens when they met in Toronto in December by a 7-0 whopping. I do expect a lot of goals again tonight, just by both teams and not just the Leafs. I do think the Penguins can win this game, but I believe the over will cover easily.

Purdue not only made it to their first Final Four under Matt Painter, but they also made it to the National Championship game. They finally pulled the pieces together in West Lafayette and avenged their upset loss last year to Fairleigh Dickinson. But now they will have to pull an upset of their own when they face defending National Champion UConn.
The Huskies have been brutalizing every opponent they have faced in this tournament. Every win has been by double digits and their closest victory was in their game against Alabama that they only won by 14. Purdue has a chance to stick with UConn in this game, but I don’t think they will have enough in the end. I like the Huskies to win and cover. In the end, this will be another double digit win for UConn.
