On Monday, Robert Morris earned another transfer commitment, this time coming from 6-foot-7 Swiss forward Kevin Martina.

“After my year on the bench at SHSU, I decided to try my luck somewhere that wanted me and would allow me to express myself,” Martina told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I was looking for playing time, a better relationship with the coaching staff and I think I found it at Robert Morris University. I can’t wait to start training on my own and with the group this summer!”

Martina played in 11 games for Sam Houston State in his freshman season, scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds on the year. The Geneva, Switzerland native also recently played for the Switzerland U20 Team at the FIBA European Championships, averaging over 17 points and eight rebounds per game in his time there. A true sophomore, he has three years of eligibility remaining at RMU.

RMU head coach Andy Toole now has the team up to 12 scholarship players, with just one remaining for this upcoming year’s team.
