Pitt freshman guard Jaland Lowe has earned yet another accomplishment for his stellar play last year as a senior.
Lowe recently accepted the Fort Bend Independent School District Basketball Player of the Year award in Houston, after averaging 27 points per game this season for Fort Bend Marshall (TX). He led the team to a state runner-up finish and surpassed the 2,000-point milestone in his career this year as well. The 6-foot-1 guard committed to Pitt on October 1, 2022, months after receiving an offer from Pitt and visiting shortly after.
The Houston product joins the Panthers’ back court along with fellow freshman Carlton Carrington, redshirt freshman Dior Johnson, and Rhode Island transfer Ishmael Leggett.
Lowe moved into Pittsburgh earlier this week to begin his collegiate career with summer classes.
