Charlotte QB Gets Pitt Offer

The best way to describe quarterback Kingsley Ifedi is to say the kid has a cannon for an arm and man can he throw a football.

Ifedi (6-3, 210) is a dual-threat quarterback from Charlotte, North Carolina. Last season, Ifedi threw for 3,213 yards, rushed for over 800 yards and combined for 44 TD’s (30 passing/14 rushing). Today the Pitt coaches saw enough to offer him a scholarship.

“I have been talking to Pitt for a couple weeks. It was a surprise being my first ACC offer because I knew an ACC offer was coming just didn’t know how soon”,  said Ifedi.

“I was talking to Coach Canada & Coach Sherman they were telling me how excited they were to recruit me and they wanted me call this morning and we talked for alitte about the program and after that they offered me.  They said they liked the way I played the position, and how I bring multiple threats to the field”, said Ifedi.

Along with Pitt, the Charlotte quarterback also has offers from East Carolina, Georgia State, Colorado State, Harvard and Yale.  Ifedi also believes that  Tennessee, NC State, Duke and Indiana are close to offering.

I asked Ifedi to describe himself to Pitt fans.

“I’m a dual threat quarterback. I can make passes in the pocket, move outside of the pocket & extend plays or even run the ball. I see myself more of a Cam Newton type, mostly the way he can hurt a defense in so many different ways”, said Ifedi.

So what are your thoughts on Pitt and will you make a visit soon?

“What stands out to me is that Pitt is a big program, especially playing at Heinz Field. Pitt has great coaches and Pitt is a great atmosphere. Also being in the ACC they play in a tough conference and in a conference where everyone has a shot to be great & compete for championships”, says Ifedi.

“Yea definitely, I want to take that visit sometime in April. I’m planning to take most of my visits in the spring so can commit before summer so I can focus on the upcoming season.”
