5-Star G Karim Mane Declares for 2020 NBA Draft, Keeps College Options Open

It appears that 5-star guard Karim Mane won’t be selecting Pitt or any other college for now, instead he’s heading to the NBA.

Jonthan Givony of ESPN.com has reported that Mane has declared for the 2020 but won’t hire an agent, meaning he’ll be eligible to pull his name from the draft and attend college this fall if he eventually chooses that option.

In an interview with Givony, Mane said, “I am not planning on hiring an agent right now. I want to hear directly from teams. If I can get a guarantee I’ll be drafted, I will probably need to think about staying in.”

Last week, the Canadian star guard announced that the five college teams that he was considering were: DePaul, Marquette, Michigan State, Memphis and Pitt. In fact, Mane and his family conducted a virtual interview with Jeff Capel.

Pitt has two open scholarships for the upcoming season and the 6-foot-6 guard is one of three players that Pitt is actively pursuing, along with 4-center Adama Sanogo and 4-star wing William Jeffress.

I would much rather Pitt keep pursuing 4-center Adama Sanogo and 4-star wing William Jeffress because I think that they would be a much better fit for Pitt to develop stability and a continued rise to becoming a solid NCAA Championship contender. Pitt does not need any one and done players…… at least not now. #H2P

No surprise here. College basketball is a thing of the past now. There won’t be a season so why bother picking a school. So you can study online? Makes no sense.
