Pitt Training Camp Notebook: August 7 Sights and Sounds

Published

Fun day for the coaches as the players get to wear pads for the first time this camp.

Pat Narduzzi gave the media a present by allowing us to watch an extra session of practice that included the offense running some live plays versus the defense.

I’ll have more on that later but here was Pat Narduzzi’s morning presser with the media prior to practice.

More info, photos and sights and sounds to follow-up.

Tuesday’s Practice Notes:

**As they do to start most practices, the punt return team worked and today players fielding punts were Paris Ford, V’Lique Carter, Jason Pinnock, Rafael Araujo-Lopes and Shocky Jacques-Louis.

**I guess in honor of the big Taylor Swift concert tonight at Heinz Field, during the stretching and warming up, a Taylor Swift song was played.

**The team had a few offensive sets with the 1st team O-Line being: Alex Bookser (RT), Mike Herndon (RG), Jimmy Morrissey (C) and other players shifting on the left side.

**Skilled position players running with the 1st team were: Tre Tipton, Rafael Araujo-Lopes, Tyler Sear, Dontavius Butler-Jenkins and Darrin Hall.

**Players running on the second team were AJ Davis, Will Gragg, Aaron Mathews, Shocky Jacques-Louis and Quadree Ollison.

**Players working with the 2nd team offense line were Jerry Drake, Gabe Houy, Brandon Ford, Owen Drexel and Chase Brown

**As far as the offense vs. defense that we were permitted to watch, Kenny Pickett looked really sharp and very accurate. They were very basic but two players that made nice catches were Aaron Mathews for a TD from Pickett and Darian Street made the best catch of the day by going up to get the ball and toe-tapping the sidelines.
