The profile and quality of Pitt football’s Class of 2020 continues to rise as another player’s star ranking was elevated by a national recruiting service.

Following a tremendous senior season, Miami running back Henry Parrish was raised to a 4-star recruit on Wednesday morning by Rivals. Parrish becomes the eighth 4-star recruit in Pat Narduzzi’s Class of 2020.

Parrish has led his Columbus Explorers football team to the Florida Class 8A State Championship Game where they’ll take on the Apopka Blue Darters on December 13 at 7 p.m. at Daytona Beach, Florida.

“I wasn’t his coach last year, but his work ethic and competitive drive has helped get us in position to win a state title,” Columbus head coach Dave Dunn told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “He is a complete back and has proven himself as one of the top runners in the history of Dade County. He is also effective out of the backfield as a wide receiver and is very good in pass protection.”

The question now is whether or not Pitt will be able to hold onto this talented player? Despite giving a commitment to Pitt, Parrish has continued to be pursued by a number of top programs including Miami, South Carolina, Florida and he holds offers from Florida State, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia, as well.

On Thanksgiving, Miami received a commitment from a second 4-star running back, so the question for them is whether or not they’re done recruiting that position.

The new team that’s entered the picture is Florida. According to Insidethegators.com, Parrish made an unofficial visit to watch Florida on Saturday as they hosted Florida State.

Parrish tells Inside the Gators that the three teams he’s currently considering are (no order): Pitt, Florida and South Carolina and doesn’t plan on making a decision until February.

I’m sure he’s gone.

7-6 doesn’t get 4* recruits.

he doesn’t sound committed anywhere at this point. Hopefully we can get Henry up to Pitt – he looks like a future star!

We need a legitimate 4 star RB. AJ Davis sure isn’t playing like a 4 star!!!

By definition, he’s not committed.

By definition, no one is committed until they’ve signed.

You can get all the 5,4,3 star running backs you want. With Pitt’s O-line it wouldn’t matter.

The Oline is the key.
Keep showing him love and let the cards fall where they fall. In the mean time, build the OLine. With a solid Oline you don’t necessarily need a 4 star RB. The Oline is what needs beefed up and strengthened. That being said, please please please I hope we get him… lol.
