Although high school sports teams across the state of Pennsylvania are preparing for a fall sports season, much uncertainty remains as to whether they’ll actually happen.
Those hoping to see the return of high school sports received some discouraging news today from Governor Tom Wolf.
In a morning press conference, Wolf recommended but didn’t mandate that high school sports should not return until January of 2021.
”The guidance is we should avoid any congregate settings. And that means anything that brings people together is going to help that virus get us. We ought to do everything we can to defeat that virus,” said Wolf. “So any time we get together for any reason, that’s a problem, because it makes it easier for that virus to spread. So the guidance from us, the recommendation, is we don’t do any sports until January 1.”
Here is the question and answer. Very confusing. This must be clarified by @GovernorTomWolf @GovernorsOffice. Is he talking about fans or sports? @PIAASports @PIAADistrictXI @EPAFootball @HSFBamerica https://t.co/aCoGPDpB4d pic.twitter.com/9FgHb2KnCc
