On Sunday, highly-touted five star 2021 prospect Efton Reid made his long-awaited college decision, choosing to play for head coach Will Wade at LSU.
Pitt was thought to be one of the top contenders for Reid after recruiting him hard for years, but in the end the 6-foot-11 big man chose LSU, who came in very late to land him.
While the future of center John Hugley is still up in the air, Jeff Capel and his staff will now look to the transfer portal to find its big man for next season. As for the 2021 class, the staff has an offer out to center Bretner Mutombo, but their doesn’t appear to be much traction between the two sides and Reid appears to be the last legit 2021 center that Pitt is pursuing. At least for now, it looks as though Capel will have to fill this major hole with someone in the transfer portal.

The Capels didn’t have the Will Wade slush fund to dip into. Will Wade and LSU are criminals. He should be in jail and LSU on probation. This was all detailed by the FBI. How no charges or punishment were really dealt is hard to imagine
Still my point is pitt basketball is a mess ,Reid isn’t the only guy he’s lost ,but if you think beating out Monmouth,s of the world for recruits and taking Duquesne ‘s backups is what your happy with then so be it

College basketball is a dumpsters fire at this point. 10 years ago it was my favorite sport and I really dont think I will watch much longer. It got ruined by all the people who demand that players do whatever they want In the end it hurts everybody
