Report: Pitt Hosting Maryland for ‘Secret Scrimmage’ on Saturday

Published

on

On Saturday, Pitt will be hosting Maryland for its first scrimmage of the year, according to Jeff Goodman.

Pitt should have everyone active for the scrimmage other than Jamarius Burton, who recently went through a knee procedure that will keep him sidelined for 3-5 more weeks. The Panthers will be led by returning players Femi Odukale, Nike Sibande, and John Hugley, while also seeing contributions from new players including Mo Gueye and Dan Oladapo, among others.

Eric Ayala, Rhode Island transfer Fatts Russell, and Georgetown transfer Qudus Wahab will lead the way for Maryland, who is ranked in numerous preseason top-25 polls and are looking like one of the top teams in the Big Ten.

This contest, reported by Goodman, was not originally on the Pitt schedule, nor the Maryland one. Pitt’s first official exhibition game will be against Gannon on Nov. 1.
