Michigan 2023 4-Star TE Khamari Anderson Talks About Pitt Unofficial Visit

It was a successful day on Saturday in every aspect for the Pitt Panthers.

Most importantly, Pat Narduzzi’s program clinched the ACC Coastal Division with their 48-38 win over Virginia. Secondly, Kenny Pickett and Jordan Addison continued to build their resumes and strengthened their cases for both the Heisman Trophy and the Biletnikoff Awards. And finally, the Panthers were able to do this in front of a number of recruits, which included a big one from Michigan.

2023 4-star tight end Khamari Anderson made the drive from Detroit, Michigan in order to come watch the Panthers in-person. This wasn’t Anderson’s first trip to Pittsburgh, as he attended a camp this summer, but it was his first Pitt Gameday experience. Before he made the drive back to Michigan on Sunday morning, Pittsburgh Sports Now spoke with him and got his impressions of his time at Pitt.

“I’ve actually been to Pitt before for a camp in the summer, which was my first time being down there and my first time meeting Coach Collins,” said Anderson. “With Pitt being the first team to offer me, they will always have a special place in my heart, so I wanted to come back down and see what it’s like on a gameday and I absolutely loved it. I loved the energy, I loved the people and it was obviously a big win so the locker room was lit after the game. I loved it.”

“Being in the locker room was crazy. Everybody had their cigars, the speakers were loud and all you could see was the blue light coming from the lockers. It was very cool and crazy. Loved it.”

First impressions are always important so I asked Anderson what’s the thing that he’s going to leave the visit remembering and what made a big impression on him.

“Definitely the energy of the Pitt fans,” said Anderson. “With Pitt being in a huge stadium, it’s going to be hard to fill it up all the time but I can tell you that the energy that the fans had for the game yesterday was amazing.”

“I was able to talk with Coach Salem, the tight ends coach and he told me it was good to see me and was glad that I was able to come and that he really wants me there. Coach Collins and I have a tight relationship because he’s the one who offered me and I had a relationship with him prior to him offering because he was a Cass Tech alumni. I also talked to Coach Narduzzi as well and he told me that he wants me there.”

Anderson is only a junior so he likely has a long time before making a decision what he said nothing he saw or heard hurt Pitt’s chances of possibly landing him.

“Yeah, Pitt is definitely one of my top schools.”
