On Friday, Pitt’s quest for a guard in the 2022 class may come to an end, as Bryce Lindsay, one of the program’s targets, will announce his commitment.
Lindsay, a 6-foot-3 combo guard out of Baltimore, has visited the Panthers multiple times, including his first ever college visit over last summer.
“I would definitely say the locker room was my favorite part,” Lindsay told PSN about his visit last summer. “I love their locker room. I like how everything is in one building, too. The gym, the practice gym, and the classrooms.”
On that visit back in June, Lindsay picked up his offer from Pitt. A few months later, he narrowed his list down to six schools, not including the Panthers. However, he eventually reopened his recruitment, and Pitt was right back in the mix.
“I love those guys,” he told PSN in June about the Pitt coaching staff. “I like how they care and how they maneuver with all that’s going on. Milan Brown has been contacting me for a couple of months now, and he hits me up every week, saying I would be a great fit and that he loved my game.”
Lindsay is ranked as a three-star prospect according to 247 Sports and is unranked by the site’s national rankings. He is coming off a recent official visit to South Carolina just last week, and according to Joe Tipton of On3, he also officially visited Pitt and Oklahoma State.
Recently, PSN caught up with Lindsay’s coach to break down the senior’s game.
“Bryce is a scorer,” said his head coach, Nick Myles. “He can score on all three levels. One of the best three-point shooters in the country. He had two games with six three-pointers. He had a game this year with ten [threes]. He can really space the floor with the way he can shoot the ball.”
“I know Coach [Milan] Brown has been recruiting him,” Myles added. “I don’t know how hard. He’s going to take a visit to South Carolina next week, DePaul is supposed to come in today. Iona has been in this week. Hofstra has been in this week.”
Lindsay’s HS coach doesn’t know how hard Pitt is recruiting his star. That says a lot about the effectiveness and commitment of Capel and his staff. Who exactly is this staff aggressively recruiting? By the way, I enjoy reading your work George even if it is not what I want to hear.
Depaul, Hofstra, Iona…..if Capel & asst’s can’t land him, they really need to be shown the door.
If Iona is recruiting the kid Coach Pinto knows how to recruit. It’s not all about basketball .it include earning an education an a family atmosphere.
Hope this kid stays 4 years !
He’s not coming here.
South Carolina. Capel sucks.
