For the first time in 12 years, the Pitt football program will enter the season ranked.
Monday afternoon, the preseason USA Today/Coaches Poll was released and it included the Panthers.
Pat Narduzzi’s team finds themselves ranked No. 16 in the initial rankings of the 2022 season. The last time Pitt was ranked in the preseason was 2010 when they were ranked No. 15 in the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll.
Altogether, the ACC has five of their teams ranked: Clemson No. 4, NC State No. 13, Pitt No. 16, Miami No. 17 and Wake Forest No. 19.

Although things could and will change, Pitt currently won’t play a ranked opponent until the final game of the season at Miami.
Sounds about right for pre-season considering offense uncertainty as a result of no Pickett and no Addison.

Anything under 10 wins is a failure
