Pitt Football Makes Top 10 for 2024 3-Star Safety Edrees Farooq
St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland is a frequent recruiting spot for the Pitt Panther coaching staff.
In this current recruiting class, Pitt was able to sign 4-star defensive tackle Isaiah Neal, their highest rated prospect this year.
As they transition to the next crop of prospects, a talented player in the Class of 2024 from St. Frances Academy has included Pitt in his top group of schools.
2024 3-star safety Edrees Farooq (6’0″, 185-pounds) already holds 25+offers and recently narrowed that group of schools down to a top ten. Those schools include Pitt, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Michigan, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Penn State and USC. Other schools that offered Farooq were Arizona, Boston College, Colorado, Kansas, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
This past season, Farooq was able to make unofficial visits to Tennessee, Maryland, NC State, Penn State, Rutgers and West Virginia, although three of those schools didn’t make his Top 10.
It’s likely that Andre Powell and Pitt will try and get Farooq to Pittsburgh for a visit this spring or to attend their Junior Day.
