Offer From Pitt ‘Means Everything’ To Central Catholic 2024 DL Ty Yuhas; Decision Upcoming?

2024 defensive lineman Ty Yuhas grew up a fan of the Pitt Panthers.

Being from Central Catholic High School, Yuhas has watched as many of his teammates and friends got recruited by Pitt and some that eventually signed to play for them.

The dream for Yuhas was to one day be in their spot and to receive an offer from Pitt. Well, that dream came true on Saturday as he received a phone call from Cory Sanders and Charlie Partridge.

The 6’4″, 260-pound defensive lineman, along with his teammate 2024 3-star linebacker Cole Sullivan, both received offers from the Pitt Panthers. For Yuhas, this is his first Power Five offer.

“Talking with Coach Sanders, he told me basically that I’m a local kid and that they’ve been recruiting me since last June,” said Yuhas. “They really liked how I transitioned from linebacker down to the defensive line. Coach Sanders then told me to give Coach Partridge a call and that’s when I called him, and he offered me. Both coaches told me that they really love my work ethic and how I play the game. They see that I always go 100% every play, every snap.”

“I knew that the Pitt coaches liked me as a player, but I wasn’t sure if they needed to see me more during the season before they offered. Honestly, I thought if I got an offer from them, it would happen during my senior season, I didn’t expect it to come in February.”

Yuhas didn’t try to downplay the meaning of this offer and what his next step could be. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to mess around and wait for other offers to come in, which they surely will.

“This offer means everything to me. It’s what I’ve always wanted,” said Yuhas. “Pitt is my hometown school, it’s also my first big offer. I’ve been down to visit there probably like 10 times. A kid I grew up with, Cruce Brookins, just signed there. A couple other players that I played with, went there.”

We wrapped up my talk with Yuhas by asking him the impact of this offer and if it’s something he could react on fairly quickly?

“Since getting this news, it’s definitely something that I’ve thought about. Honestly, I probably will react on it soon.”

Does that mean there’s a good chance we could be seeing a ‘Pat Signal’ soon, Yuhas gave a direct answer.

“Yes”.

Stay Tuned.
