PSN Poll Question: How Do You Feel About Silent Commitments?

Published

on

The term ‘silent commitment’ is something that draws mixed emotions from college fanbases.

On one hand, it’s a good thing because it’s a sign that a team has received a verbal commitment. On the other hand, it can be frustrating because sometimes it takes a while before the silence on that commitment is revealed.

This topic is relevant this week because of the situation concerning 4-star defensive back Koy Beasley.

Although it’s never been 100% confirmed, it’s widely believed that Beasley gave the Pitt coaching staff a silent commitment following his official visit at the beginning of June.

For whatever the reason, things didn’t end up coming together with Pitt as Beasley announced his commitment to Purdue on Wednesday.

This was no doubt frustrating for the Panthers coaching staff, especially since this likely impacted the way they recruited the safety position over the last month.

Our PSN Poll Question today is if you’re a college coach, would you allow ‘silent commitments’ or would you make the player reveal his commitment with 24-48 hours?
