On Friday, Pitt basketball wished its big man Federiko Federiko good luck as he traveled back to his home country of Finland to compete for a spot on the Finnish National Team.

Federiko has already spent significant time this summer in Finland, working out at the Finnish National Olympic Training Center and practicing with the national team. He also competed this summer for the Susijengi Rising Stars — a basketball team in Finland.

Last month, Pitt assistant coach Jason Capel visited Federiko over in Finland for a weekend trip. He broke down his time with the Federiko family in an interview with PSN here.

As a sophomore last season, Federiko started 27 games averaging 6.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He ranked third in the ACC with 1.66 blocks per game, logging 12 different games with at least three rejections.
