The CW Network has found a new home in Pittsburgh.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Joshua Axelrod, WPNT (22 The Point) will become The CW’s new affiliate starting Friday, with WPCW-TV no longer carrying the network after Aug. 31.

That’s important news for next weekend as Pitt hosts Cincinnati in a game that will be broadcast by the CW Network on channel 22 in the Pittsburgh area.

The ACC announced a partnership with The CW in July, paving the way for 50 ACC football and basketball games to be broadcast on the network over the next three seasons.

The first ACC sporting event will take place on The CW when Pitt hosts non-conference foe Cincinnati on Sept. 9 at Acrisure Stadium. Additional ACC games will air every Saturday through the 2023 season in the afternoon or primetime window. In addition to 13 football games, The CW will also broadcast 28 men’s basketball and nine women’s basketball games in December, January and February.

Men’s doubleheaders will take place Saturday afternoons while women’s doubleheaders will take place on Sundays.

“We are thrilled to be adding The CW to our weekly television lineup for ACC football and basketball games,” ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips said in the release. “The CW’s national distribution will directly benefit our student-athletes, teams, alumni and fans. We appreciate ESPN and Raycom working together and look forward to the partnership with The CW.”

The ACC is back in action Thursday as Wake Forest plays Elon and North Carolina plays UConn. Pitt is finally back in action this weekend as Wofford comes to town for the first matchup between the two programs.

Kickoff against Wofford is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Acrisure Stadium.
