With recent talk about scheduling, the Pitt Athletic Department is on the verge of revealing a couple interesting non-conference games for the football program.

A source tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that Pitt is deep in talks and close to announcing games for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

The headliner of the two is a game in 2027 that would take place against Wisconsin with the game being played in Ireland.

Pitt is scheduled to start a home-home series against Wisconsin in 2026. The first game in 2026 will be in Wisconsin, with the return game in 2027 originally scheduled for Pittsburgh.  The way things look now, that game would be in Ireland. Assuming this is finalized, this would be an interesting home game to give up, unless they decide to extend the series an extra year in 2028.

The other game being discussed and expected to be signed is a matchup in 2028 between Pitt and Robert Morris at Acrisure Stadium.

For years, there’s been talk about Pitt and Duquesne possibly playing, but it looks as though it’ll be Pitt and Robert Morris.

Pitt Football Future Schedule

2024: Kent State, at Cincinnati, West Virginia, Youngstown State

2025: Central Michigan, at West Virginia, Notre Dame

2026: at Wisconsin

2027: Wisconsin, UConn

2028: at UConn, Notre Dame, Robert Morris (??)

Pitt is over scheduled. Lighten it up or more losing seasons are on the horizon. Playing Cincy, at WVU, and at Notre Dame this year was insane.

Play UMASS, Temple, Rhode Island, and Maine. Then get ready for ACC play 4-0.

If they were 5-0 right now we would bragging how tough the out of conference Schedule is and how bright Narduzzi and Lyke were for doing so.
It’s a Journey, Don’t Stop Believing.
Jump Around and Sweet Caroline in Ireland would be fun!

The ACC is a weak conference, and one could make the argument that the coastal division is the worst division in power five football. They need to play more ranked non-conferences teams like Notre Dame, not less.

Some interesting match ups. I like them playing Wisconsin. Really wish they’d leave the MAC schools and FCS schools alone, but I get it. Overall it looks interesting in a good way

Maybe a few more FCS games so we can actually get a handful of wins.

“We” you’re a Penn State fan. Why do you keep pretending to be a pitt fan?

A Pitt vs Wisconsin matchup in Ireland? That’s a little outta left field. Do we have some kind of following in Cork I’m not aware of or something? Is Pitt or Wisconsin some kind of feeder school for Trinity College graduate programs?

Yeah playing Bobby Mo doesn’t exactly do it for me..Losing a home doesn’t sound good either.I would like to see Wisconsin come to the Burgh…

Pitt needs to lighten the load. Non-conference games should be cupcake wins. That SHOULD ensure Six or seven wins and bowl every single season, as long as there are no Cignetti’s on staff.

Wisconsin is going to be very tough once Fickell gets his bearings.

Idiotic to play a game in Ireland, especially a home game
