Update (3:46 p.m.)-

Pitt volleyball moved up a spot to No. 7 in this week’s AVCA poll. Interesting that they moved up considering they lost in a sweep to No. 6 Louisville last Friday, but not a bad loss at all.

In the ACC, Louisville moved up to No. 5 with the win and Georgia Tech fell two places to No. 13 after losing in a sweep to Miami. Pitt’s other two losses came to BYU in the season opener and Oregon in the first game at Fitzgerald Field House. Oregon is No. 8 and BYU is No. 9, meaning that Pitt’s losses this season are to teams in the top 10.

Kentucky, who Pitt beat in a home-and-away Labor Day weekend, is up to No. 20. Two teams that Pitt swept in James Madison at home and Marquette on the road also received votes this week.
