Pitt 2024 RB Juelz Goff receives Regional Player of the Year Award

Pitt football Class of 2024 recruit and running back Juelz Goff had a great senior season, leading to him earning honors from local media.

GameTimePA-SC, which covers high school sports in York, Adams, Lebanon and Franklin counties in Pennsylvania, named Goff the Player of the Year. Goff had an exceptional 2023 for Central York, guiding them to their fifth straight YAIAA (York Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association) Division I title, an 11-1 record. He did so by rushing 242 times for 1,623 yards and 31 total touchdowns, which led the league in all three categories.

Goff helped Central York win 32 of their 36 games, with just four losses in his high school career. His first game of the season saw him rack up 279 rushing yards, 20 receiving yards and six touchdowns in a dominating performance in the 45-35 win over Central Dauphin on Aug. 25.

He also put together a stellar junior season in 2022, running for 1,611 yards (8.3 yards per carry) and 31 touchdowns and adding 335 yards (14 yards per reception) through the air, but he set an offseason goal to achieve greater consistency on and off the field.

He is the only running back in Pitt’s Class of 2024, as three-star running back Yasin Willis decommitted and then committed to ACC rival Syracuse on Sunday.

247Sports rates Goff as a three-star running back, No. 25 recruit in Pennsylvania and No. 60 at his position in his class, respectively. Rivals also rates him as a three-star, but No. 19 in Pennsylvania and No. 49 at running back in the Class of 2024, respectively.

Goff committed to Pitt after his Junior Day visit in January, locking in very early in his recruiting process, and he made his official visit to Pittsburgh over the week of June 8.
