Pitt football.

As is normally the case this time of the year, college football teams are busy visiting potential recruits for the future and extending offers.

That was certainly the case with Pat Narduzzi and his staff as they were all over the East Coast and extended scholarship offers to a number of high school athletes.

In case you missed what we posted on Tuesday in the Frank Walker Law Daily Notebook, here is a recap along with some late-night offers that we didn’t post.

And it’s just another list of offers extended by the Panthers.

Offers Extended by the Pitt Coaching Staff

**Pitt did some recruiting out West as they extended an offer to 2025 offensive tackle Soren Shinofield from Cherry Creek High School in Englewood, Colorado. Shinofield (6’6″, 275 pounds) holds other offers from Nebraska, Iowa State and Colorado State. Shinofield received the offer from Pitt OL Coach Jeremy Darveau and TE Coach Jacob Bronowski.

**2025 outside linebacker Denim Cook from Bishop Hartley High School in Columbus, Ohio. Cook got the offer in-person from Pat Narduzzi and LB Coach Ryan Manalac. Cook previously received offers from Virginia, Indiana, Akron, Bowling Green, Marshall, UMass, Miami OH, Ohio University, Purdue and Toledo.

**2026 wide receiver Naijah Arnasalam from Plantation, Florida. The 6’2″, 180-pound wideout received his first D-1 offer from Purdue.

**2025 4-star quarterback Malik Washington from Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Maryland. Earlier this month, Washington (6’5″, 200) announced a Top 6 of Maryland, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Oregon and Penn State. It’ll be interesting to see if Pitt is able to make an impression and seriously get involved with this talented quarterback.

**2026 offensive tackle Maddox Cochrane (6’7″, 270-pounds) from Midlothian, Virginia received an offer from Tiquan Underwood. This was the first D-1 offer for Coachrane.

**2027 defensive end JiKoi Highsmith from SouthWest Ranches, Florida received an offer from Charlie Partridge. This becomes the first D-1 offer for this freshman.

**2026 cornerback Sean Johnson from Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Maryland. Johnson has also received offers from South Carolina, Akron, West Virginia, Tennessee, Syracuse, Toledo, Virginia Tech, Marshall, Charlotte and Maryland.

**2025 DE Alexander McPherson from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. McPherson (6’4″, 245) has other offers from Michigan State and UNLV.

**2026 wide receiver Jayden Petit from First Baptist Academy in Naples, Florida. Petit (6’4″, 180-pounds) holds early offers from Miami, Louisville, Tennessee and South Florida.

**Pitt football running backs coach Lindsey Lamar continues to recruit in Maryland, offering Class of 2025 safety Trent Gillis on Tuesday. Gillis, who stands at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, plays for Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md., south of Baltimore. He also holds offers from Syracuse, Akron and UMass.

**2026 tight end Sam DeFrancesca from Trinity High in Richmond, Va. picked up an offer from the Pitt coaching staff this afternoon. DeFrancesca (6-foot-5, 185 pounds) picked up his first offer from Pat Narduzzi, Tiquan Underwood and Jacob Bronowski.

**Pitt has extended an offer to 2025 three-star tight end Tyler Kielmeyer from Westerville South High in Westerville, Ohio. Kielmeyer (6-foot-7, 235 pounds) holds offers from Akron, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Pitt, Toledo and West Virginia.

**2025 4-star wide receiver Kamren Flowers has picked up an offer from Archie Collins and Pitt. Flowers (6’0″, 165-pounds) attends West Bloomfield High School in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Pitt joins Arizona State, Central Michigan, Kansas, Miami, Michigan State, Penn State, Toledo, Rutgers, Miami OH, Indiana, Western Michigan and Wisconsin as schools that have offered this Michigan athlete. Flowers brings speed, having run a 4.43-second 40-yard dash and a 10.6-second mark in the 100 meters.

**New Pitt football running backs coach Lindsey Lamar offered Class of 2025 defensive lineman Taylor Brown on Tuesday. Brown, who stands 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, earns his first Division I offer in Pitt. He plays for Dr. Henry A Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Md., east of Washington, D.C. Brown is a talented defensive lineman, that uses his size and strength to dominate opposing offensive linemen.

**Pitt football secondary coach Archie Collins continues working through Michigan, offering Class of 2025 linebacker Charles (DJ) White on Tuesday. White plays for St. Mary’s Prep in the Detroit Catholic League, in Orchard Lake, Mich. and stands at 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds. He made 76 tackles, 42 solo, eight tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in 2023. Like a true outside linebacker, White is great in coverage, making tackles in space and blowing plays up at the line of scrimmage on a blitz.

**Tiquan Underwood and Pitt continue their recruiting in Virgina as they offer standout freshman defensive back Khalid Rainer from Richmond. Rainer (5’11”, 165) previously received offers from Charlotte, Duke, Syracuse, East Carolina, Arkansas State, West Virginia, Penn State, Central Michigan and Virginia Tech.

**While recruiting today in Ohio, Pitt DC Randy Bates extends an offer to 2026 OLB/Edge Rusher Cam Thomas from West Chester. Thoams holds other offers from Michigan, Ohio University, Toledo, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Eastern Michigan, Virginia Tech and Cincinnati.

**First offer of the day for Pitt goes to 2025 wide receiver/defensive back Blake Wallace from Boca Raton, Florida. This is a big one for Wallace because it’s his first D-1 offer. Congrats Blake. Wallace received the news from Charlie Partridge.

Funny! Is there any benefit to stating that UPitt and most other Schools troll one another on web-sites such as On3, Rivals, Scout (247SportS) and counter offer any other identified 3, 4, and 5 Start football athlete?
I find it more interesting when you report that UPitt is first to offer a dude their first P5 offer. That would suggest they are uniquely scouting perhaps themselves.
What a task on the Football staff to have to do this activity year in and year out all year long. You can see why some of the old Heads are calling it quits.

It is true, once a player receives a D-1 offer, it alerts scouting boards. I believe the key with Pitt is that they are looking for young men with talent, but also a good reputation for character. You’re correct about Pitt recruiters doing their homework. It’s hard work, but I believe it’s how you get some very productive players that may be underrated.
