Pitt has been targeting Washington D.C. guard Derek Dixon for a while now, and even recently hosted him for the Pitt-Duke game at the Petersen Events Center.
Pitt Welcoming 2025 Four-Star Guard for Game Against No. 11 Duke
According to a report by Panther Lair’s Houston Wilson on Friday, the Panthers were once again in attendance for one of Dixon’s high-school games.
Dixon is having a strong junior season for Gonzaga College High School, leading the team to a 22-4 overall record and 10-2 in conference play so far. Dixon is a 6-foot-3 combo guard who is ranked as a four-star prospect in the class of 2025 by 247 Sports. He is the No. 77 overall player in the class, per the site’s composite rankings, and is the No. 2 player in DC.
In addition to Pitt, he holds offers from Villanova, Miami, Virginia, West Virginia, Cal, Mississippi State, Iowa, Penn State, Syracuse, Maryland, Providence, Saint Joe’s, East Carolina, George Washington, George Mason, and others.
He has taken numerous trips up to Pitt since Panthers’ assistant Milan Brown and the rest of the staff have been recruiting him.
