PITTSBURGH — Hinson has made history.

On Tuesday night, Pitt’s star forward Blake Hinson hit six threes, breaking the Panthers’ program record for three pointers made in a season, surpassing the 103 total which previously held the record.

Hinson finished the game 9 for 15 from the field and 6 for 11 from three-point range. He now has 21 games this season with at least three three pointers made, and seven games with at least five threes to his name.

The Panthers won the game over the Seminoles behind Hinson’s 27-point outburst along with 17 points from Jaland Lowe and 12 from Bub Carrington. Lowe also added a team-high ten assists in the win — the Panthers’ 20th of the season. Pitt shot 42% from three-point range in the win, improving its overall record to 20-10 on the season and 11-8 in ACC play.

Hinson now has 104 three pointers this season, and 292 in his career. He has hit 104 of his 244 attempts this season — a 43% mark.

Pitt has one remaining home game and it comes on Saturday, March 9. Pitt will honor Hinson for Senior Night ahead of that game against the Wolfpack.
