Central Valley OL out of WPIAL Brendan Alexander

Over the years, Pitt has built a strong pipeline with the Central Valley football program and the Panthers are looking to take it to the next level with the Warriors bound to send more players to the Division I level in the coming years.

One of those talents happens to be offensive lineman Brendan Alexander, who paid Pitt a visit during its spring practice on Thursday.

The Class of 2026 prospect got to see new offensive line coach Jeremy Darveau firsthand as the unit put in work inside the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.

“I really got to spend time with the o-line coach and see how things work,” Alexander told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “We went to the practice, and it was amazing. I liked how violent they were and how they got after it.”

It’s no secret that Pitt is heavily pursuing Alexander, who is the 11th-rated prospect in Pennsylvania and holds a 4-star rating from the On3 Industry Ranking, and that starts with the relationship from Darveau.

“He’s an amazing coach,” Alexander said. “He showed me a lot and told me where I fit into their scheme and how much Pitt really wants me there. I appreciate him for reaching out and giving me an invite.”

While at the Pitt facility, Alexander had the chance to watch former Central Valley lineman Sean FitzSimmons take reps.

Alexander leans on the Warrior product for advice on how to handle his position and what life is like at Pitt.

“I talk to Sean a lot about technique and things,” Alexander said. “He’s doing good and should start this year. Saw him practicing with the ones. I was really just talking to him about how Pitt is and really getting a grasp of things.”

And of course, FitzSimmons is also in Alexander’s ear about potentially coming to Pitt and for the Panther target, he expresses that it’s certainly a possibility.

“I feel like it’s already known that Pitt’s the spot as a forerunner. Can’t get any better than Pitt – amazing school and amazing coaches,” Alexander said.

As a hometown team, Alexander understands that Pitt is a viable option and that they are growing for the future.

“I feel like they’re building a new culture. They’re trying to build something special there, I really believe that. It starts with the guys they are recruiting now,” he said.

Alexander, who’s been playing football since he was five years old, stands at 6-4, 290-pounds and plays a physical brand for Central Valley’s offensive line.

Through his first two seasons of high school action, Alexander has grown accustomed to his role on the line.

“I really understand the aggression, speed, especially playing since my freshman year,” he said.

Alexander plans on visiting Pitt again soon and may even stop in for the Pitt Spring Game on April 13.

Along with Pitt, Penn State and West Virginia are also recruiting the Western Pennsylvania prospect hard and Alexander expects to visit those programs again in the near future as well as Maryland.

In addition to Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia and Maryland, Alexander also holds offers from NC State, Duke, Boston College, Syracuse, Wisconsin and others.
