On Thursday, Duquesne head coach Dru Joyce III landed his third commitment of the week.
Chicago State transfer forward Jahsean Corbett committed to Duquesne after hearing from a long list of schools upon his portal entry. Corbett is a 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward from Orlando, Florida who averaged 15.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game this past season for the Cougars. Corbett spent three years at Chicago State, averaging at least 12 points and 6 rebounds per game in each individual season.
Duquesne basketball on Pittsburgh Sports Now is sponsored by The Summit Academy: setting young men on the path to a better future.
After he entered the portal this spring, Corbett heard from the following programs: Miami, Mississippi State, UAB, Virginia Tech, Duquesne, Utah State, Bowling Green, Loyola Chicago, Illinois State, UMBC, Cal Baptist, UTEP, and others. He then decided to visit Duquesne two weeks ago and clearly enjoyed his time there as the recruitment has culminated with a commitment.
Joyce has also landed transfer recruits Tre Dinkins (guard from Canisius) as well as Cam Crawford (guard from Marshall) this week. Dinkins is a 6-foot-2 guard who scored more than 15 points per game for the Golden Griffins last season, while Crawford averaged 8.2 points per contest a season ago.
Both Crawford and Corbett played against the Dukes last season. In a Duquesne win, Crawford went 9 for 18 from the field, scoring 20 points. Corbett also had a strong outing against the Dukes, scoring 21 points on 10-for-14 shooting and grabbing 11 rebounds in a five-point loss to Keith Dambrot’s squad.
Go Dukes !!!
