The Robert Morris Colonials opened their season up on the road against Utah State. The Colonials carried a 14-10 lead into halftime over the FBS-level Aggies in large part to their three defensive interceptions.
In the first half, the Colonials got two interceptions by freshman cornerback Tysin Harvey but the most impressive one came by the way of junior defensive back Rob Carter Jr. when he used just one-hand to haul in an insane interception to preserve the lead before halftime.
Harvey’s two interceptions came on the first two offensive drives of the game for the Aggies while Carter’s came with 18 seconds left in the first half. On the play, Carter raced down the seam with an Aggies receiver before jumping up and contouring his body and snagging the interception with his right hand.
Carter was so hyped after the play that he was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct which eliminated any chances of more first-half points for the Colonials but they were happy enough to be leading and just kneeled the time out anyways.
