For the second time today, Pitt has lost a wide receiver from last year’s roster.

First, Daejon Reynolds announced his intentions to enter the portal as a graduate transfer. Now, PSN has learned that redshirt freshman Lamar Seymore intends to do the same thing.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound receiver spent his freshman campaign redshirting. 2024 was not much different as he only received two targets all season, both coming in the season opener against Kent State. He recorded one catch for five yards in nine total snaps of action.

Seymore joined the Panthers as a three-star recruit out of Miami Central High School in Miami, Fla. as the 111th-ranked wide receiver, according to ESPN. He flipped his commitment from Miami to Pitt during an official visit.

At the time of his commitment, he held offers from Auburn, Colorado, Florida Atlantic, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Coastal Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee, West Virginia, Pitt, UCF and Miami.

Seymore was a four-time state champion for Miami Central. During his senior season, he recorded 34 receptions for 596 yards and nine touchdowns, helping the Rockets to a 14-0 record.

Pitt has now lost eight players to the transfer portal with cornerback Jaremiah Anglin, wide receiver Daejon Reynolds, center Terrence Moore, running backs Rodney Hammond Jr. and Montravius Lloyd, cornerback Noah Biglow and defensive tackle Nahki Johnson.
