The Pitt Panthers enter the midpoint of the season with a record of 4-2 and are off until next Friday when they travel to Syracuse.
There’s no question that as a unit, Pitt’s defense has been the bright spot to this point as they’ve been able to get to the quarterback and are starting to create turnovers.
Our PSN poll question of the week is who has been Pitt’s top player to this point?
Jaylen Twyman paces the Panthers with six sacks on the year and seven tackles for loss and has constantly created havoc in the backfield
Paris Ford leads the team in solo tackles (27) and his 45 total total tackles are 14 more than number two Damar Hamlin. Ford also leads the team in interceptions and has the team’s only defensive touchdown.
Patrick Jones has four sacks, tied with Kylan Johnson for second on the team and has three forced fumbles.
Kylan Johnson has four sacks, 29 tackles, two passes defended and a forced fumble.
Taysir Mack leads the team in yards with 511 to go along with 41 catches (second on the team to Maurice Ffrench) and has two touchdowns. Mack has gained a reputation for making big combat catches.

Kenny Pickett. We can win games with that Defense but Kenny has stepped up his play in the absence of a running game. without him, Pitt’s record looks drastically different.
Very hard to pick between Jaylen Twyman, Kylan Johnson, Patrick Jones, and Paris Ford on defense and Taysir Mack, Maurice Ffrench, V’lique Carter, and Aaron Mathews on offense.
My pick is Dane Jackson hardly do teams throw his way and when they do he does an outstanding job covering his guy
K. Pickett
