Pitt basketball signee John Hugley has been named a first-team all-state player by the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association.
Hugley, a 6-foot-9 senior at Brush High School near Cleveland, had already been named his district’s player of the year.
He averaged 24 points, 13.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game for Brush according to the News-Herald.
A consensus four-star prospect, Hugley is the highest-rated player in Pitt’s 2020 recruiting class, which swelled to four members on Tuesday with the addition of New York guard Femi Odukale.
Hugley is rated by 247 Sports composite rankings as the No. 2 player in Ohio and the No. 14 center in the country.
