8 • Calijah Kancey, redshirt sophomore defensive tackle
Last year: Playing in all 11 games and starting four, Kancey put together a highly impressive freshman year after redshirting in 2019.

Camp outlook: Kancey is on his way to becoming the next star Pitt defensive lineman, and as just a sophomore, he is arguably the biggest asset on the Panthers’ defense.
Projected role: Kancey will start at defensive tackle alongside junior Devin Danielson and will be a key piece in the middle.
Accolades, Highlights: Named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America, Rivals and The Athletic last season. Kancey was also named to the Preseason All-America second team by the Walter Camp Football and named as a Preseason All-America honorable mention by Pro Football Focus for the upcoming year.
