Duquesne Women Picked A-10 Preseason 9th

The Duquesne Women’s Basketball Team was picked ninth in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll as voted on by the 14 head coaches.
Dayton received 11 of 14 first-place votes in the poll to take the top spot. Rhode Island earned two first-place votes. Fordham, Saint Louis and VCU rounded out the top five. VCU earned the final first-place vote.
Duquesne was 5-11/4-7 A-10 a season ago, though the team was massively affected by injuries. Amanda Kalin suffered a season-ending injury during the second conference game of the season. Additionally, Libby Bazelak missed a good portion of the season and Laia Sole played through injury. Halle Bovell and Aniya Walker both did not play last season.
Much like the men’s team, no Duquesne women’s student-athlete received any preseason recognition.
A Duquesne team, which promises that what happened last year, will never occur again, is planning to attack the court in a different manner, though it is being secretive as far as what exactly that consists of.
Duquesne will open its season Nov. 9 at UCF.
