Die-Hards: Examining Pitt’s Scholarship Situation

Published

on

The Pitt football transaction report has been fairly busy since the Peach loss to Michigan State.

Added to the 2022 roster are the names of transfer quarterback Kedon Slovis (USC), wide receiver Konata Mumpfield (Akron) and defensive back Michael Dowell (Michigan State).

No longer with Pitt are running back Todd Sibley, wide receiver Shocky Jacques-Louis, linebacker Cam Bright, defensive tackle Noah Palmer, cornerback Damarri Mathis and punter Kirk Christodoulou.

Deciding to take advantage of an extra season of eligibility were left tackle Carter Warren, guard Marcus Minor, center Owen Drexel and right tackle Gabe Houy.

The question now is where does this put Pitt in relation to the 85-man NCAA scholarship limit and what still needs to happen?
