On Wednesday, the Pitt men’s basketball program reinstated guard Ithiel Horton after he had been suspended due to criminal charges.
Horton’s four felony charges were reduced on Wednesday to just two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of public intoxication.
Horton has appeared in one game for the Panthers this season, coming back to the team after his charges were initially dropped. In that game against Louisville, Horton scored 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out one assist. He played 28 minutes, and went 3 for 5 from three-point range.
However, shortly after, he was placed back on suspension when the charges were re-filed.
Now, Horton is back with the 8-12 (3-6 ACC) Panthers and will step right into his sharp-shooting role when they take on Boston College on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 4 p.m.
Now this young man can get back to what he loves best playing basketball and being with his teammates. Let him put this behind him an hel his team win games an go toclasses an get his education.Looking forward to seeing him play without any distractions off the court.
