An interesting Saturday morning offer came from the Pitt football program.

Dave Borbely extended an offer to 2023 3-star athlete Davoun Fuse from Washington High School. Back on May 11, Fuse gave a verbal commitment to Rutgers.

Fuse is 6’5”, 190 pounds and plays quarterback and defensive back at Washington but the Rutgers coaching staff offered him as an outside linebacker. Last season for Washington, Fuse threw for 713 yards, rushed for 294 yards and scored a combined 25 touchdowns.

Aside from being a standout football player, Fuse is a champion in track and field. At the recently concluded WPIAL Track and Field Championship, Fuse win 3 silver medals as runner up in long jump, the triple jump and 400 relay team. He’s competing this weekend at the PIAA Track & Field Championship in Shippensburg.

Fuse becomes the 4th player from Western Pennsylvania in the Class of 2023 to receive a Pitt offer: Fuse (Rutgers), Rodney Gallagher (West Virginia, Lamont Payne (Penn State) and Ta’Mere Robinson.
