On Wednesday, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel met with 2023 forward Ladji Dembele.

Dembele is a 6-foot-9 forward out of St. Benedict’s Prep in New Jersey. He also competes for the NY Renaissance.
Pitt has had its eyes on Dembele for a while now, having offered him a scholarship back in late June. He then took an official visit (his first ever OV) to Pitt on Sept. 1 for the Backyard Brawl football game. Along with the Panthers, Seton Hall and Providence have been in to see Dembele over the past month or so.

Dembele is right at the top of Pitt’s recruiting board now, as forward target Papa Kante is rumored to be leaning towards Michigan. The Panthers currently have a three-man 2023 class, with Carlton Carrington, Jaland Lowe, and Marlon Barnes verbally pledged to the program.
