There are quite a few four-star visitors who will be in Pittsburgh this weekend for the final stretch of June official visits.
To this point, Pitt’s class of 2024 consists of four four-star recruits, and the coaching staff is trying to increase that as they’ll be hosting at least four players with four-star ratings. Pittsburgh Sports Now is still working to confirm visitors for this week, with things possibly changing because of commitments that Pitt has already received.
Throughout the afternoon, PSN will let you know of the players that we’ve confirmed to be making their official visits.
One of those is current Pitt commit DayDay Farmer, who will be making his fifth visit to Pitt — and his first official visit, of course.
Farmer — a 6-foot, 165-pound four-star wide receiver from Melbourne Central Catholic in Melbourne, Fla. — has already taken two official visits this month, one to West Virginia and one to UCF, and he will close out his official visit schedule in Pittsburgh.
When it comes to his official visit to Pitt, Farmer just wants one more chance to lock in with the coaching staff and see exactly how the program is run over an extended period of time.
“Just a lot of different stuff because I’ve been there five times, just want to see a lot of different things,” Farmer said. “… I just hope to see how the coaches act outside of football; see how they really are with the players.”
But when it comes to Pitt, and especially Farmer’s relationship with wide receivers coach Tiquan Underwood, he’s secure in the bond — especially considering it’s Underwood.
“Me and Pitt? Real locked in,” Farmer said. “Me and coach Underwood? Real locked in, real cool. More than a football type of person.”
247Sports rates him as the 365th-ranked recruit in the class (53rd-ranked wide receiver and 56th-ranked recruit from Florida) while On3 rates him as the 330th-ranked recruit in the class (56th-ranked wide receiver and 49th-ranked recruit from Florida).
Rivals rates him as the 32nd-ranked wide receiver and the 45th-ranked recruit from Florida — holding a 5.8 Rivals Rating.
Pitt has had another commit this class who was planning on taking an official visit but decided against it after being in Pittsburgh, so there’s a good chance Pitt’s last chance could secure his commitment.
Pitt currently holds commitments from Farmer and three-star wide receiver Cameron Monteiro, and this weekend will include visits from four-star Zy’Marion Lang and three-star Triston Ward.
