Central Catholic 2024 three-star wide receiver Peter Gonzalez has announced that he will be committing on Friday, June 23.

Penn State is in the running with Miami and Virginia Tech to land the commitment of Gonzalez (6-foot-3, 200 pounds), who is the No. 14 player in Pennsylvania and the No. 71 wide receiver in the country,
according to 247Sports.

247Sports has a Crystal Ball prediction forecasting Penn State to land the WPIAL prospect.

Gonzalez made an official visit to Penn State last weekend, and the visit went very well, and he seems to be ready to make his decision based on his most recent visit to campus at the most recent Elite Showcase.

Gonzalez’s father started for Pitt during the 1997 season, and he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1998-2000, where he served as a backup for Kordell Stewart and Kent Graham. He went on to play for the Hamilton Tiger Cats in the Canadian Football League from 2002-2003

Gonzalez finished with 42 catches for 737 yards and eight touchdowns last season despite missing three games, establishing himself as a deep threat, verified by his 10.86 100-meter dash time in track in field.

If Penn State lands Gonzalez, he will join his teammate linebacker Anthony Speca as the second pair of teammates to commit to Penn State in the 2024 recruiting cycle along with Jon Mitchell and Antoine Belgrave-Shorter of Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida.
