Billy Hubly, new Pitt men's basketball assistant coach

Pitt basketball has added a new coach to its staff for the upcoming 2023-24 season in Billy Hubly.

Hubly joins the Pitt staff as Assistant AD of Scouting, a role Jake Presutti previously held before joining Buffalo as an assistant coach.

Hubly began his basketball career at Saint Francis (NAIA) in Joliet, Illinois. He played four seasons for the Saints, earning All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors three times throughout his career.

Hubly then joined the East Carolina basketball staff, first as video coordinator and then as an assistant coach in 2017-18. He then joined South Florida in 2018 as Director of Player Development, before transitioning into Video and Social Media Coordinator there.

Pitt also announced new roster numbers for the upcoming 2023-24 season. This includes a number that no Pitt player has worn since the 1940s, as well as new numbers for three first-year players and two transfers.
