Pitt returns just one guard from last year’s roster, and that’s Dior Johnson, who redshirted last season after legal troubles sidelined him early in the year.
So, this offseason, Jeff Capel and his staff set out to replace last year’s back court with talent from the high school ranks as well as the transfer portal. After adding high-school prospects Carlton Carrington and Jaland Lowe last year, Capel found his veteran guard early on during portal season: Ishmael Leggett.
