Breakdown of Pitt Football’s Current Class of 2024

After a month or so of inactivity, Pitt football’s recruiting has picked up some momentum over the past couple weeks.

It started with the commitment from 4-star running back Yasin Willis on July 29, that was followed by Pitt landing Penn Hills 3-star quarterback Julian Dugger and capped off with the Panthers landing 4-star defensive end Sincere Edwards on Tuesday.

With these 3 additions, we wanted to give you a recap of Pitt’s Class of 2024, along with some other details.

PITT’S CLASS OF 2024
-Includes 22 commitments (10 offensive players and 12 defensive players).

-POSITION BREAKDOWN:
Quarterbacks: 1 (Julian Dugger).
Running Backs: 2 (Yasin Willis and Juelz Goff).
Wide Receivers: 1 (Cameron Monteiro).
Tight Ends: 1 (Eric Ingwerson).
Offensive Lineman: 5 (Moritz Schmoranzer, Mason Lindsay, Adham Abouraya, Caleb Holmes and Jiavani Cooley).

Defensive Backs: 4 (Nigel Maynard, Davion Pritchard, Allen Bryant and Tayshawn Banks).
Linebackers: 3 (Cam Lindsey, Davin Brewton and Jeremiah Marcelin).
Defensive Ends: 3 (Ty Yuhas, Zachary Crothers and Sincere Edwards).
Defensive Tackles: 2 (Jahsear Whittington and Francis Brewu).

Pitt’s Four-Star Recruits:
*Pitt’s recruiting class currently has five 4-star recruits: Jahsear Whittington, Sincere Edwards, Yasin Willis, Cam Lindsey and Caleb Holmes.
-Last year, Pitt had two 4-star recruits in Jordan Bass and Isaiah Neal.
-Pitt’s Class of 2022 had three 4-star recruits in Samuel Okunlola, Jimmy Scott and Ryan Baer.
-Pitt’s Class of 2021 had three 4-star recruits in Nahki Johnson, Elliot Donald and Naquan Brown.

I couldn’t help but be perplexed as to Georgia Tech’s recruiting class being rated higher than Pitt’s. Ouch.
