On Friday, Pitt landed a commitment from former Catawba (DII) guard Mike Hueitt.
Prior to his lone season at Catawba, Hueitt played at Old Dominion as well as UNC-Greensboro at the DI level. He has missed the past two seasons due to injury. Hueitt has one year of eligibility left. At UNCG in 2019-20, he averaged 4.7 points per game and shot 38% from the field. Then, in 2020-21, he averaged 8.1 points per game at Catawba, starting six games and hitting 33% of his three-point tries.
The 6-foot-4 guard brings veteran experience to the Panthers, a team with two freshmen in their backcourt rotation (Carlton Carrington and Jaland Lowe). Check out Hueitt’s film below, including his highlights at UNCG as well as recent video of him working out to show that he is healthy once again.
If you really want to see how Hueitt’s game has developed, check out his high-school tape below from the 2017 NBPA Top 100 Camp.
