PITTSBURGH — After a dominant defensive effort against Wofford, the starting Pitt defensive lineup remains the same. But there are a couple of changes on offense.
Pitt has swapped Daniel Carter out of the lineup for C’Bo Flemister at running back and Jason Collier Jr. out of the lineup for BJ Williams at left guard — making his first career start, just two games into his Pitt career. Williams has certainly hit the ground running to begin his collegiate career.
Flemister, a second-year Pitt running back from Notre Dame, carried the ball 40 times last season, racking up 220 yards (5.5 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. He became a favorite of Pat Narduzzi — and the entire coaching staff. He carried the ball nine times for 27 yards and took two catches for 35 yards against Wofford last week.
Carter should still be expected to receive a number of carries against the Bearcats, rotating in with Rodney Hammond Jr. and Flemister.
Williams’ introduction to the lineup comes after Narduzzi pointed to interior pressure being an area that Pitt wanted to clean up prior to today’s game against Cincinnati. It will be a tough matchup in Williams’ first career start, but he has the faith of his coaches and teammates.
The rest of the lineup remains unchanged, but as the Pitt coaching staff is known to do, there will be a steady dose of rotating depth in at certain positions across the offense and defense.

I thought Slovis transferred. So far it looks like he’s wearing #5 this week. Also, OL and DL are mailing it in this week
Narduzzi needs to not look past opponents anymore. This is maddening.
Imagine having Rod Hammond and thinking that Carter, and then Flemister are better RBs. I mean give me a break. The DL and OL were terrible today. The QB is a disaster. Throwing passes 10 yard out of bounds. And the big. bad FL transfer Deajon Reynolds, what another disaster., Typical Narduzzi loser game at home. SUCKED THE LIFE OUT OF THE CROWD. Terrible performance
Another defensive dud performance. This idiot HC is supposed to be a defensive coach. How many home losses against sub par opponents do we need to endure. This coach from Louisville is laughing at Narduzzi. Easy wins last year and now this year at Home. Disgrace
