Pitt Inactives Against Cincinnati

Pitt defensive lineman Sean FitzSimmons.

PITTSBURGH — Pitt went through the summer about as healthy as Pat Narduzzi could’ve hoped for, and it doesn’t appear there were any major injuries against Wofford.

Ryan Jacoby, who is out for the 2023 season, and Rashad Battle remain out against Cincinnati, and Sean FitzSimmons also appears as though he will miss his second straight game.

FitzSimmons, a second-year defensive lineman from Central Valley High School in Monaca, Pennsylvania, missed last week’s game after going through warmups and dressing — standing off to the side during warmups. And it was the same case Saturday afternoon about half an hour before the Cincinnati kickoff.

The Pitt defensive line will roll with the starting foursome of Deandre Jules and Devin Danielson, who were officially announced as starters again, and David Green and Tyler Bentley. Elliot Donald and Isaiah Neal, to a lesser extent, could be in line for situational snaps, too.

Pitt, otherwise, is pretty healthy approaching kickoff against Cincinnati.

After watching this game, it doesn’t look like they’re healthy at all

They couldn’t beat Central Catholic the way they looked for the first 45 minutes. Early over-reaction – We aren’t a tough or physical team. That’s going to be a problem the next few weeks.
